The 10-day Gorillas & Kilimanjaro Climbing Tour will start from Kigali in Rwanda and end in Moshi in the North of Tanzania. Will include Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda and Mt. Kilimanjaro climbing in Kilimanjaro National Park in Tanzania.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up from Kigali Airport
Arrive at the airport and meet your tour guide who will drive you to Kigali for a short city tour and lunch before continuing your journey to your safari lodge near Volcanoes national park where you will have dinner and an overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda is one of the few remaining natural homes for the endangered mountain gorillas in the world. You will go on an early morning trek in Volcanoes Forest to trek the giant apes which will take 2-6 hours depending on how far from the starting point they are located. Spend an hour with them once you locate a gorilla family and your ranger guide will be there to answer any questions you have as he tells you interesting facts about the gorillas.
Return from the forest and drive to your safari lodge for lunch and an evening of relaxation.
Day 3: Flight to Tanzania
Today you fly to Tanzania, your next destination on this 10-day safari. You will be dropped at Kigali airport for a flight to Arusha airport in Tanzania. You will be welcomed by your safari driver who will take you to Arusha town for some light shopping and later transfer to Moshi town at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro where you will spend the night.
Day 4-10: Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro
One has to choose a route among the 7 established routes that lead to the summit of Kilimanjaro, Uhuru peak (5,895 m) that they can ascent in reference to their physical capabilities and the ability of one’s body to adapt fast to the ever-increasing altitude.
Among the 7 routes, for this 7-day period, we recommend, Machame route, Rongai route and Umbwe route. They all have a day set a side for acclimatization on their 7-day itineraries which is an important day that improves your chances of making it to the summit. While on your climb up Mt. Kilimanjaro, remember to take a moment and be aware of your surroundings, the mountain has scenic views and beautiful vegetation zones with unique plants.
On the night of day 9 at midnight. You will make your final ascent to the summit. On day 10 you will be back at the base of Kilimanjaro at Mweka gate. Here your safari driver will be waiting for you. Then drive you to your hotel in Moshi for a more celebrations. As you prepare for your flight back home later in the day.
