Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up from Kigali
Your 6-day safari will start with a tour of Kigali city. Your tour guide will pick you from the hotel and take you on a tour of the cleanest city in East Africa. You will visit the Rwanda museum, the genocide center and the malls or local markets.
Have lunch and later drive to your accommodation near Volcanoes national park for your overnight stay. Enjoy your evening with amazing views.
Day 2: In Volcanoes National Park – Gorilla Trekking
An early breakfast and drive to the park’s head offices for a briefing about gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park. Volcanoes is one of the places where you can find the endangered mountain gorillas in East Africa and the world at large in their natural habitats.
You could spend up to 6 hours before you find a gorilla family depending on their movements) in the Volcanoes Forest with which you will spend an hour observing the, taking pictures to freeze the wonderful moment and learning more about the gorillas from your ranger guide.
Return to from the forest and drive back to your accommodation for lunch, you can choose to spend the rest of the day at leisure relaxing or go on a cultural visit to the Gorilla Guardians Village.
Day 3: Flight to Arusha, Tanzania
After breakfast, your tour guide will drive you to Kigali airport to catch your flight to Tanzania. On arrival in Tanzania, your safari guide will pick you from the airport and drive you to your hotel in Arusha city.
You can take on a short tour of the town and do some light shopping or sit back at your hotel, relax and recharge for the upcoming adventures.
Day 4: Arusha to Serengeti National Park
Depart Arusha for Serengeti national park. As you drive to your safari camp, you will engage in a game viewing activity, get your camera rolling for the wilderness adventure has started in the vast plains of Serengeti.
Check in, have lunch and relax at your safari camp while enjoying your surroundings. Walk around the facility and check out the available amenities. Dinner and overnight at your safari camp.
Day 5: Game drive and Maasai community visit in Serengeti
While exploring the Serengeti plains expect to see lions, elephants, wildebeests, buffaloes, hippos, leopards, zebras, hyenas, bat-eared fox, kudus, elands, water-bucks and more.
After lunch drive to one of the Maasai communities in the Serengeti area for a thrilling cultural experience. Get to be entertained by their Maasai traditional dance which you can take part in. Buy some authentic handmade crafts and later return to the safari camp.
Day 6: Departure Flight
With one more game drive in the morning as you exit the park. We come to end of your 6-day Rwanda and Tanzania safari.
